EmpowerHER Virtual Mini-Series

Join us for a four-week virtual mini-series that combines a variety of health-related topics and movement, see below for a more detailed description. In partnership with the Kamloops YMCA-YWCA, we want to create a safe space for students to connect, learn and move. This pilot program is open to students who identify as female at Brock Middle and Norkam Secondary. With the exception of an optional interactive cooking session, all sessions will be held virtually so that students can participate from the comfort and safety of their homes. For safety reasons, we ask that participants keep their video on while you participating in sessions. To register, please see your school's counselling department for permission forms.

All sessions will take place virtually from 4:00pm-5:30pm. All registered participant will be sent a Zoom link via their gedu email accounts. Participants will be required to keep their cameras on for safety purposes.

Students are invited to participate in an optional cooking session ahead of the online Q & A with dietitian Lindsay Pleskot. Lindsay has prepared a simple hummus recipe but with a twist. All ingredients are individually wrapped and will be provided free of charge. This session runs from 3:00-3:45pm.
